Carpentry Basics

Purpose: build and repair wood structures with accurate layout, strong joints, and repeatable fit quality.

Quick Start

  1. Mark reference face and edge on every board.
  2. Use measure twice, cut once workflow with stop blocks.
  3. Pre-plan joints and fastener schedule.
  4. Dry-fit before final assembly.

Common Mistakes and Fixes

Scenario Drills

Drill 1: Precision Box Build

  1. Cut panels and assemble a small box.
  2. Measure diagonals and corner squareness.
  3. Adjust process and repeat once.
  4. Goal: diagonal delta under 2 mm.

Drill 2: Field Repair Frame

  1. Simulate broken frame member.
  2. Replace section with lap or sister joint.
  3. Load test structure.
  4. Goal: restore function safely in one cycle.
